“E-health, a still virtual attractiveness? ” The keys to success to make Paris Ile-de-France the leader of tomorrow’
The Greater Paris Investment Agency gathered for the 8th Innovation Forum a great number of economic and scientific decision-makers to discuss best practices in order to make Paris Ile-de-France one of the future e-health city leader.
Recently, international investors have told our Association that they expected a lot from our Capital Region on this strategic matter.
The Greater Paris Investment Agency has therefore, mobilized the best experts to identify the strengths and margins of progress of our metropolis. The results of this study have been shown during the Forum.
Elisabeth HACHMANIAN and Jean-Christophe SAUNIÈRE presented the main results of this exclusive study which aim was to identify key factors for success and best practices overseas.
Andrew ALSTON , Maganing General of Cisco and Kumar NARANAYAN, Managing Director of Tata Consultancy Services also gave a speech on the state of international competition in this field.
But our Capital Region has many advantages: Pierre SIMON has reminded us that it has an exceptional ecosystem, including:
- the best concentration in the world of medical and hospital material
- Paris Ile-de-France is the first metropolis in the world of international medical Congresses
- it is also among the 5 best Smart Cities in most international rankings…
- and it has a great concentration of large global groups but also more than 370 innovative SMEs
Three french success stories can testify:
- Manual GEA, Bio-Modeling Systems
- Alexandre MIGNON, iLumens
- Alexis WESTERMANN, Bluelinea
Today the business model constitute the main progression margin. Our major witnesses were:
- Pascal BRIER, Vice President, Altran Executive
- Guillaume SARKOZY, Delegate General, Malakoff Médéric
Finally, René RICOL, President of the Working Group of the Greater Paris Investment Agency, President of Ricol Lasteyrie and former Commissioner General for investment capital gave proposals of our Association to make Paris Ile-de-France a leader of tomorrow:
-define a pro-active strategy to make Paris Ile-de-France a pilot territory where the best cares are practiced by the most innovative technologies;

7th Forum on Innovation and Research – October 30th 2012
The Greater Paris Investment Agency’s 7th Innovation and Research Forum met with true success: close to 600 attendees. The results of the exclusive study conducted with Deloitte on the major worldwide scientific clusters and our proposals to give Paris-Saclay the means to join the Top 10 were presented at this forum.
Our intense lobbying efforts over a number of months with the French President and new government were successful.
The Prime Minister, Jean-Marc AYRAULT, chose our event to express his personal commitment, and that of the government, to both the realization of the Greater Paris Project and a faster development of the Paris-Saclay cluster. In particular, he confirmed his intent to complete the automatic subway line serving the region from Orly, our main request, as well as close to €2 billion in financing for the cluster itself.
The Prime Minister also announced the government would make available “as soon as necessary, and in 2015, if needed a grant of €1 billion to the capital of the Greater Paris’ Company“.
